They began as a subscription service and required a streamlined and attractive website with minimal barriers to users signing up. The main challenges in the project were twofold. Firstly, the payment system needed to be resilient and store all the information required by the client. Secondly, routing for the localised landing pages and deals needed to be established to ensure that users coming from a specific territory would get guided towards deals relevant to them.
The solution to the challenges involved several iterations of the website. Initially, a one-page website was created with multiple call-to-actions to entice users to sign up, along with a Stripe payment system to take subscription payments. The site was then updated to have territory-specific landing pages and localised deals. Promotional codes were also added to allow companies to offer promotional codes to their employees that would allow them to sign up for free to the Secret Flight Club, bypassing the payment process altogether.
To ensure the payment system was resilient and stored all the information required by the client, the website was built using a secure, encrypted payment gateway. This ensured that all customer information was kept safe and secure.
To address the issue of routing for the localised landing pages and deals, the website was built using a Content Management System (CMS). This enabled the client to create and manage location-specific content easily.
The project has been a great success, with over 23,000 subscriptions since the launch of the website. The updates to the website have increased user engagement and retention, resulting in a higher number of repeat customers. The addition of promotional codes has also enabled the client to generate more leads and increased brand awareness.
